5 things that should be on your website redesign checklist to improve conversions

It doesn’t matter when your website was last updated; even websites that are a few months old can go outdated pretty quick. #1) Place your CTA prominently

Make sure your CTA passes the ‘squint test,' which implies that visitors should be able to identify the important parts of a website even while squinting.

Using directional cues to point out the CTAs is something that’s often missed during website design. You might have seen arrows pointing you towards ‘Buy Now’ or ‘Place an order.' There’s nothing wrong with that. The ultimate aim of your site is to convert visitors into buyers, so be obvious about it. Depending on the look and feel of the site, directional cues will have to be different.

#3) Using color theory
 
Believe it or not, a part of your conversions depend on what colors you use, and how you use them. For instance, yellow depicts optimism. If you use red instead of yellow on your CTA, it will send out a different message to your customers. Study color theory and add colors that are meaningful, yet appealing.


#4) Make the most of the whitespace

 
Utilize whitespace on your site. If you have some extra space on the bottom of the page, contemplate on placing a CTA there during the website redesign. This will help visitors get a clear path to conversions. However, do not overdo it and make optimum use of whitespace, so that the user doesn’t get distracted from the actual purpose of your site.


#5) Set a clear visual hierarchy 

 
If your customer has to ask you where to find something on your site, it’s a clear indication that your site’s visual hierarchy is all wrong. You need to establish a robust visual hierarchy that’s self-explanatory to visitors.
